Our Lady of Fatima Coloring Page
This Our Lady of Fatima coloring page shows Mary in a white dress and mantle, a rosary hanging from her joined hands, standing on a cloud above a small oak tree, with the three shepherd children and their sheep kneeling below. The PDF is free to print. Mary appeared to them in Portugal in 1917.
The story of Our Lady of Fatima
In 1917, in the hills of Portugal, near a village called Fátima, three children took care of their families' sheep. Lúcia was ten. Her cousins Francisco and Jacinta were nine and seven.
On May 13, while the sheep were eating grass in a field, the children saw a flash like lightning. Then they saw a beautiful Lady standing above a little oak tree. She was brighter than the sun! "Do not be afraid," she said. "I will do you no harm." She told them she came from heaven.
The Lady asked the children to come back on the 13th day of each month. She asked them to pray the rosary every day for peace in the world, because a terrible war was going on. Jacinta was so excited that she told her mother that very night!
The children came back again and again. More and more people came with them. On October 13, a huge crowd gathered in the rain. The Lady said, "I am the Lady of the Rosary." Then many thousands of people saw the sun spin and dance in the sky. We call it the Miracle of the Sun.
The Lady was Mary, the mother of Jesus. Today we call her Our Lady of Fatima. Francisco and Jacinta went to heaven when they were still children and are now saints. Lúcia became a sister and lived until 2005. Mary's feast as Our Lady of Fatima is May 13.
What to color
- Mary's dress and mantle: white, edged with gold, with a little gold star near the hem.
- The rosary: white or gold. Mary asked the children to pray it every day.

- The three children: Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta, in any colors you like.
- The sheep: white or cream. The children were shepherds.
- The light around Mary: yellow and gold, because she was brighter than the sun.
A prayer to pray together
Before Mary came, an angel visited the children and taught them this short prayer, which the Shrine of Fatima still shares:
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You! I ask pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You!
